Malmesbury Abbey is both a working abbey and one of Wiltshire’s top tourist attractions, attracting around 65,000 visitors each year. As a Grade 1 Listed building that is home to a vibrant church communtity, there is a great deal of work to be done maintaining the building, looking after visitors and in the ministries we carry out.
The vast majority of this work is done by dedicated and hard working volunteers from both within the church community and from outside it. We are truly thankful to everyone who gives their time in any capacity, however little or infrequently and welcome and encourage anyone who would like to help in any way. Shown below are just some of the areas in which volunteer roles are available. If you would like to enquire about volunteering, thank you; please contact us via the office or talk to any of the volunteers you will find in the Abbey.
