Children and Youth
We want our groups to be the best time of our young people’s week. Where they make friends, discover God's love and how to live life to the full! Most of the groups meet on Sunday during our 4pm service.
Rock Pool: (children aged 0 to 2 1/2)
A safe and fun space for our youngest children to play, rest and learn about the God who loves them, with a very capable team. Rockpool is situated towards the back of the Abbey.
Little Fishes: (children aged 2 1/2 to school reception year)
This group starts with free play and then has creative Bible teaching, craft and snack time! Little Fishes meets in Eilmer House which is situated just across from the Abbey.
Lighthouse: (school years 1 to 6)
The children spend time together singing, learning and playing games before breaking off into smaller groups where they can form friendships and think together about the Bible stories. Lighthouse takes place in the Town Hall.
Wave: (school years 7 to 9)
Provides an engaging and attractive programme for both churched and unchurched young people and is a combination of games and discussion. This group meets in the Parish Office.
The Boat: (school years 10 to 13)
Builds on the vision of Wave, while giving young people the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities within the youth and other children’s ministries and wider church. This group meets in Eilmer House from 6pm to 8pm after the Sunday 4pm service.
Deeper: (school years 7 to 13)
Is a mid-week gathering which gives our youth the opportunity to go deeper in their faith within a smaller group. There are two groups which meet on Thursday evenings to study the Bible, pray and encourage one another.
We also run our Little Stars
baby and toddler group which meets in the Abbey on Mondays from 10:00am to 11:30am.
